To say that I went hog wild with my Paleo shopping list at the grocery store yesterday would be an understatement to say the least!
I purchased a heaping amount of veggies (nothing new there)… but the sheer excitement of the variety of meats I could now have suddenly made the meat section of the grocer look like a 70% off sale on a Black Friday!
Not to say that I wasn’t eating meat within my Eat Clean meal plan, however I was strictly limiting it to super lean meats, such as chicken, turkey and seafood, and lean cuts of beef every once in a while in moderation and lots of tofu. But the peace de resistance was winning back Pork!!!! yes, I have already exclaimed this excitement in Day 233. post. I don’t think you understand my love for it. I love pork like Anthony Bourdain loves pork. seriously.
So the very first thing I put in my basket was…. you guessed it…. PORK! and not just any kind… no. But the succulent salt cured pork! Oh how I have missed you!

Something seems so sinfully wrong about this…. Of course, I will intake with moderation. But the Paleo rules say ‘bring on the fat! bring on the meat!’…. This whole concept seems so….. NAUGHTY!!!!
Anyway, I also picked up some gorgeous pork chops.

Action Packed Pastured Chicken Livers! love these!

some pastured chicken too!

Also got some breakfast sausage. (I typically don’t like buying boxed pre-cooked meat like this because of the apparent sodium bomb, but sausage must have been the hot item of the week at the store, because there was none!)

I couldn’t forget some omega-lovin Salmon steaks.

and lastly, my other serious carnivore love - Grass-Fed Bison!!!

Yeah… Carnivore Crazy indeed….
On a separate note - Day 2 of Paleo : so far so good. I’m down 2.8 lbs of water weight. thank the stars!
